Writers as producers and looters

March 16, 2009

Here is a content that strikes me as something true and correct. The author says that there are two kinds of people, the looters and the producers. Indeed in many aspects of life, you have that kind of duality; someone who produces and someone who takes advantage of the output of the producers- the looters. This is true as well in writing, where writers are the producers and some buyers are the looters. And the looters are the ones that ride on the crest of skills and production of the writers.

The article goes on saying that writers as producers should welcome competition, and never blame co-writers for their failures. Writers who blame other writers for their failures and for failing to snag the writing job are also called looters. For this reason, we as writers should strive to make ourselves to become as producers and simply not looters. The content further challenged writers; welcome competition and help develop new writers.

Every writing project is a way to hone the craft. And yes, I also accept the challenge of the author- to be intent on improving and should cast nothing aside no matter how small that project may be. Read everything- I will and accept challenges- yes I will.

Loving SE C902

February 7, 2009

I have been saving for a new phone that is not too luxurious but good enough to use when taking pictures for blogging and for my mp3s and of course for calling friends in business. And just last month, I bought what I really wanted-another Sony Ericsson phone. This time I took home my C902. The last Sony Ericsson phone that I got was the T630 and this was the time I was still with CVG and that was way back in 2004. I am happy right now with this new phone-love the pics taken. The only issue is that I have to buy a memory card in order to store more mp3s. Without the memory card on the Sony Ericsson C902, I can only save around 25 to 30 songs on the phone memory. I asked a friend and learned that the memory card for this phone is a bit pricey compared to the memory for other phones. Other than this issue, my Sony Ericsson is one dependable phone for me. Thanks freelance writing. =p

Risks of freelance content writing

November 19, 2008

Scammers- well is there such a word for them?- have a special place in hell. Writing online has become one of my sources of income, pride and yes miseries. I have this one project and when I learned about their average pricing for one content I said to myself I will do my best here and I hope I can make the company happy. But that wasn’t meant to be. I have been writing regularly for four weeks now, and all I received was my Week One payments. Whatever happened to you? I believe in the inherent goodness of man, so I continued writing until today. I received an email yesterday that the payment for week2 (take note we are on week4) will be deposited that day. More than 24 hours after, I have nada in my account. Writers online, beware. Writers online unite, you have nothing to lose but your words…

Bikes.bikes.handicrafts

September 9, 2008

Finally got my pics here. I wanted to posts many pictures here but I still don’t have my own digital camera. Nothing to worry though since it’s number 2 on my list come December. The one thing that I would like for myself is a new mountain bike. I saw a good-looking one in the market a week ago. The bike looks good and from the way it was displayed I was sure that the two-wheeled drive (naks!) is pricey. The bike is hanging on the ceiling and when I asked the attendant how much that cost, she replied that the bike cost 35,000.00. Whoa. Retreat. Even if I have that kind of money for a bike, I still won’t get it. I checked out the other store and yes, their most valuable bike is hanged as well. At least the red one cost 8,000.00 and that’s within my budget. So thanks Rach for taking this picture. I will be using this one on my site’s header. Other pictures will follow, but before that I have to finish first my writing gigs. Seagrass handicraft and abaca handicraft can wait. I will focus first on my writing gigs. The pic on the left is just one of the many seagrass handicraft products that we produce here.More to come later.
