SNL, Tina Fey gets a loyal following this campaign season

Comedy is scoring big right now in the US, and political satires like the ones shown on Saturday Night Live are making all the right noises on cable television. And well, one good reason for this popularity can be linked to Sarah Palin character as portrayed by Tina Fey. The latest results are in, and based on projections for the week around 10 million viewers tuned in to watch the show. The draw for SNL right now is the impersonation of Sarah Palin by resident comedian Tina Fey. The figures were based on the pre-preliminary data that was posted by Nielsen Media Research and this was also 42 percent higher than the show last year and also 23 percent higher from last week’s figures. The ratings are soaring and this will lasts until elections.

This country has its own satire, ‘Abangan ang susunod na Kabanata’ and this lasted for many seasons as well. I just hope another political satire is in the works courtesy of our major networks.

Tina Fey is good; wins her Emmys

I only saw her impersonation of Sarah Palin, and from then she can count on me as one of her millions of fans. Tina Fey accepted the awards for the lead actress in a comedy series, writing in a comedy series and in outstanding comedy. Fey is funny, witty, smart..and yes she’s beautiful. The comedian and writer provided some nice moments at the awards night. Fey in one of her acceptance speech said;

I thank my parents for somehow raising me to have confidence that is disproportionate with my looks and abilities.

Earlier in the show, Palin err Tina Fey teamed up with another comedian, Amy Poehler-another fave of mine thanks to her Hillary Clinton impersonation- to deliver the first real laughs in the awards show as they presented the award for the supporting actor in comedy. Fey asked her partner when she was due to have her baby. How dare you, said Amy Poehler she added that she gained weight for a role. Coolness.
